Through the inspiration of her first teachers, Thomas Frederick Freeman, pupil of Leopold Godowsky and Tanya Zunser Ury, pupil of Edwin Fischer, Anne formed her first private piano studio for children and adults at the age of thirteen.
During her undergraduate years she began teaching classes for Yamaha International at the Yamaha Music School in San Francisco. During her time with Yamaha, she served on the Materials Advisory Committee to develop new textbooks, was instructor for the Junior Original Composition Course and was selected to study and teach in Tokyo, Japan. Videos of her Model Classes were used as instructional material for teacher training seminars.
Over the years, her private students have won scholarships from the CCMTAC, played in MTAC State Conventions, Honors Recitals, Northern California Festivals through CAPMT and in Master Classes given by Nathan Schwartz, Hans Boepple, Audrey Andrist, James Stern, John McCarthy and Yoshikazu Nagai. Currently, she maintains a large private studio in Walnut Creek, CA consisting of children and adults from beginning to advanced levels.
